If you are like me, you might be trying to gradually replace household items in your home with more eco-friendly options. Who wants to expose their children and family to harmful chemicals, so often found in traditional cleaning products?
I have also been trying for over a year now, to reduce the amount of plastic bags we bring home from the grocery store. Once I started paying attention to how many bags I was bringing my groceries home in, it was so excessive. No wonder I always ended up with what seemed liked hundreds of bags under my sink. Sometimes the bagger at the store, would use one bag for one small item.
It bothers me that we still use plastic Ziploc bags, but quite frankly, they are so easy to use. I use the gallon sizes for everything from marinades to storing art supplies in. I use the sandwich and snack sizes for the boys’ snacks on the go, and for Ryan’s school lunches.
But probably the biggest single factor for me in holding off replacing more household items is the cost. We only have one natural grocery store in our town, and paper products, etc. are pretty expensive there. My regular grocery store doesn’t have that big of a selection of eco-friendly paper, plastic, and cleaning supplies. I suspect I am like a lot of people, who would like to purchase more eco-friendly products, but can’t justify spending double, triple, or even more on them.
Fortunately, we don’t have to now. There is a fantastic company, Lets Go Green.biz, which now provides many eco-friendly household products that are affordable. In fact, after reviewing their site, many products cost less than what I have been paying for conventional items.
What makes it even more affordable, in addition to their already low prices, if you use the coupon code FRIEND during checkout, you receive an additional 25% off your order! How wonderful is that?
One of the best bargains they have is their new BPA-free water bottles from Camelbak. I have seen similar BPA bottles in the sporting good store for at least $15. Sigg BPA-free water bottles are great, but in my health food store, they run from $20-$40. The price of Lets Go Green’s BPA-free water bottles: $12.89. With the 25% discount, they end up being $9.67. I have yet to see them less anywhere else. Plus they come in a variety of colors.
I am so excited and pleased to offer a fabulous giveway from Lets Go Green.biz. It is valued at over $37 and all the products are eco-friendly. One lucky person will win:
Let’s Go Green Large Canvas Shopping Bag
32oz. Glass Cleaner (I have used this, and it works wonderfully! It gets the smudges and little handprints off the windows with no streaks. It is dye and fragrence free, non-toxic, and it is biodegradable!)

To be eligible to win this prize, all you have to do is go to Lets Go Green.biz, and look at their products. I like the LED night lights!!!
BPA-free Better Water Bottles! My husband has tons of the ‘unsafe’ ones. Thanks.
I would love to try the BPA-free Better Water Bottles, the bio storage bags and the the bio plates etc. The store is wonderful!
The pvc free bags – I agree with you, they are just so useful!
I love everything on the site, but I really live the water saving garden hose nozzle.
We really need to switch over to the “Mini-twist 60-watt CFL Light Bulb”, but we’re holding off til our regular bulbs blow out. They seem to be taking their time though. If I didn’t want them to burn out, they probably would have months ago! haha.
I like the BPA-free Water Bottles!
I’m digging this giveaway, no doubt! Woohoo, love their site, can’t wait to start shopping! Inexpensive BPA free bottles…sign me up! I like their recycled facial tissues…I’m always blotting my face. Way cool. Love the plastic sandich bags and for the trash too. Thanks!
I’d love to try the glass cleaner. With the summer days we’ve noticed just how dirty the windows are!
I’d never heard of this site before, so I’m excited to start comparing prices to what I’m currently paying. I wasn’t aware that there’s such thing as ecofriendly trash bags. I’d definitely be interested in those!
great info! thanks for posting. I would have to say the Glass and Bathroom cleaner spray would be the best for our household.
We already have the 5min shower coach as my wife got that as some SWAG at a work convention. Sure got me to take short showers!
We also have CFL bulbs in all of our lamps so we’re good in that category.
Water savings is big for us as we have a well and the hot/dry summer months takes a toll on our water levels, the water saving hose nozzle is a great buy for someone who does not have one! I have two, one for each hose!
Oh man, you have no idea how excited I got when I saw that degradable trash bags exist. Those would definitely be great to use 😀
eco friendly plastic bags!
Nice giveaway, Heather! I like the degradable kitchen garbage bags. I’ll leave a link on my blog, too.
[…] friend Heather at A Mama’s Blog is doing a huge green eco-products giveaway. Check it out to see all that you could […]
I think those walnut scrubby sponges are a great idea, and I need some new sponges right now anyway. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
I have been to their site before, and I am most interested in their trash bags and sandwich. I’ve already given up plastic grocery bags and have started buying biodegradable trash bags from Wal-Mart, but they are really expensive. This is a much better alternative.
While I’d like to use all of their products, I think the cleaners appeal to me the most. I’ve always known the smells from household cleaners couldn’t be healthy. It’s nice that there are more alternatives now.

I like the eco-friendly plastic bags and wrap. I think we can all make a difference in many small ways.
the BPA-free .75L Water Bottle, perfect size and comes in great colors. I’m always on the lookout for safe plastic products.
The Ecosafe Degradable Tall Kitchen Bags would be useful.
I’d really like th BPA-free water bottles. They’d be great for our family to have for the summer….we do a lot of outdoor activites.
I’d love the water saving hose nozzle for my gardening.

Awesome giveaway! I love the idea of the paper product sampler. It’s a great way to try out everything! Thanks for the info on this site.
I really like the BPA-free water bottles. Since all I use are Nalgenes, it would be nice to have a healthier, greener replacement.
I have been on the lookout for some green household products. I have never seen these products, I hope I win!
Hard to decide, since I like most of the things, but my first need is BPA-free water bottles.
We don’t use paper products often but the sugar and corn plates and cups are such a clever idea.
Those BPA free bottles look great — spillproof is good! My kids have never met a cup they couldn’t spill though.

I’d like to try the 5 minute shower coach.
I blogged you on A Contest Blog at https://acontestblog.com/index.php/2008/a-mamas-blog-lets-go-green-giveaway/
The 5 minute shower coach sounds great!
How bout a 15 second shower and a lot of deodorant!
The toilet tank bank is cool
I like the household water conservation kit, our hot water is heated by oil, and if that isn’t bad enough, the water company raises its rates all the time!
I’d like to try that Walnut Scrubber Sponge.
Two things caught my attention when I visited the site. The water bottles because of their bright happy colors were beckoning to me and then I was intrigued with the energy saving nightlights too. Thanks for the contest.
I would love to try the Concentrated Laundry Detergent. It’s so hard to find a product that is chemical free and still does the job!
I like the 3-Bath House Green Starter Kit since I have 3 bathrooms
I love the motion-sensor LED night light. Just the thing for not falling down when I’m going to the bathroom at night but no constant glowy thing to keep me awake (yes, I’m that light sensitive!)
Great idea, Greenbiz! Pricing green products at or cheaper than the prices of name-brand “traditional” products is definitely the way to get lots more people to go green.
I love all the products…especially the water tank bank. Any ‘green’ products are essential and great!
I would like to try the hose nozzle
I like the lo flow hose nozzle so I don’t feel that there is so much water being wasted in the garden!
walnut scrubber caught my eye, looks interesting. thanks for the giveaway!
i would like to get some bpa-free water bottles to pack in my son’s lunch box
I would like the water bottle, because I lost my last one and could use a nice new one.
